Dear SoulPhone family,
A short update this month because there is so much going on that I can’t share.
In short, huge progress in four ways occurred in the last week. Three of those are technological. IF everything comes together as it appears it will, the time required to receive a highly reliable Yes / No answer from a postmaterial person may decrease from hours to under one minute.
That’s all I can say about the technological side. On the funding side, the funds needed to develop a sufficiently rapid and reliable SoulSwitch may drop by 90% or more. ‘Just’ $100K may take the technology to readiness for developing the SoulKeyboard. That’s where you come in. Thank you for donating what you can and telling others about the relatively little funding needed. Perhaps you will be, as we were, touched by this note from Hilda . . . ‘I’m on a fixed income and can only donate $10 per month. But I want to do in the hope that one day I will be able to talk with my beloved husband Hank who passed on two years ago. I miss him so much and would give anything to know he really is OK and watching over me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do.’ To help in a smaller — but very important and appreciated way — like she did, visit Membership and Donations. Here’s a note from Carole that brought tears to my eyes. It affected Dr. Schwartz, and foundation and project team members the same way . . .
‘Please accept my check for $1000. I wish I could contribute more to the SoulPhone Project. What prompted me? My six-year-old grandson Camden was over today. Out of the blue, he came up to me holding our landline phone. He said, “Gramma, can we call Uncle Kyle?” It broke my heart. Cam adored Kyle and vice-versa. I told him some very smart people are working on it and someday it may be possible. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you all are working on the project. Thanks so much for all you do.’ Carole joined at the Foundational Level. In addition to paying for eight hours of work by a highly specialized electrical engineer or software programmer, she received a number of gifts. To learn more about what you receive for higher levels of giving, visit Membership and Donations. NOTE: a special one-time opportunity exists for the first person who contacts me at mark@soulphone.org and donates. Get a set of artwork — independently valued at $8000 — for your $10,000 donation to the SoulPhone Project. To learn more, visit Visionary Art for a Funder. I know this month’s update focused a lot on funding but necessarily so. Dr. Schwartz’s dream has been to create this technology from a grassroots level of funding. The recent technological breakthroughs may allow this to happen if enough people help as they can.
